When two years have passed and the owner has not been found, the lost property is handed over to the Estate Service of the Region of Crete for safekeeping and management. They enter the possession of the public.

Then the Hellenic Public Real Estate Corporation service after a selection transfers the forgotten ones to auctions.

Once the Ministry of Finance issues the order for an auction, the items from the Hellenic Public Real Estate Corporation of Crete are given to the auction officials and if no one is found to bid for them, they are automatically transferred to the Public Property Management Organization (ODDY)
